What Stupidity is This?

Anybody with ANY amount of intelligence knows that if you cut off supply while demand is rising precipitously, prices will go up, also precipitously. They also know that if prices for motor fuel go up precipitously, prices YOU have to pay for EVERYTHING will go up because everything you buy MUST be shipped, and shippers must pay those high fuel prices and add the cost to what you are required to pay to get your purchases to you, or the store from which you buy them. So ANYBODY who opposes things like "domestic oil drilling," building oil refineries in this country, and nuclear power (which is about as safe as anything if proper procedures are followed). So what's WRONG with Democrats and other liberals who have allowed environmental extremists to cause an almost COMPLETE HALT in oil production in this country, causing HUMANS to be an "endangered species" to "protect" some unknown animal species, forcing us to buy a significant amount of our oil from people who hate us and who work hard to keep prices high. This is (Just common sense)

Putting the Government in Control

Liberals want the "Cap and Trade" laws enacted to put their people "in charge" of everyone. Cap and Trade is deceptively peddled as a free-market solution to the yet-to-be-settled issue of manmade climate change. Under its provisions, companies would be able to emit greenhouse gases only if they had a government allowance." In other words, you CAN pollute as much as you want, as long as you go "hat in hand" and "tugging your forelock" to a "faceless bureaucrat" and PAY for permission. That way, they can control your every move eventually. (Walter E. Williams)

Making It a "Federal Case"

The Federal government is going into the business of eradicating bedbugs, something that has already been almost completely eliminated by the private enterprise need to protect their customers and also themselves from suits. They're going to spend $50 million dollars to interfere in what should be a STATE responsibility. Seems to me there is written somewhere (I can't seem to remember where . . .) that the feds have NO power they aren't specifically GIVEN by the citizens, and I'm sure "bedbug control" isn't on that list. They say it's not a joke. I disagree. I think it is, and I needed a good laugh. (Common Sense)

Widening the Problem

The liberals aren't satisfied with rising gasoline costs. They want us to be miserable at the dinner table as well--and everywhere else. "Anyone with an ounce of brains would have realized that diverting crops from food to fuel use would raise the prices of corn-fed livestock, such as pork, beef, chicken and dairy products, and products made from corn, such as cereals. Ethanol production has led to increases in other grain prices, such as soybean and wheat. Since the U.S. is the world’s largest grain producer and exporter, higher grain prices have had a huge impact on food prices worldwide." And then there is the marked increase in shipping costs caused by increasing gasoline prices, which has caused the price of EVERYTHING to rise, as well, since everything we consume must be shipped. In addition to that, we're starting to see airlines going out of business or declaring Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 bankruptcy because they can't pay their bills (Chapter 11 allows them to stay in business while making plans to pay; Chapter 7 means "it's all over.") As this problem mushrooms into everybody's life, the liberals are on a five-week paid vacation while still opposing what can relieve the problem. (Atlasphere)

The Myth of a "Bad Economy"

The liberals have been trying for years to convince us "we're in the worst economy in 20 years" while the numbers make them liars (of course they forget that part of that 20 years was under a Democrat president)  Yes, we're in "a rough patch," caused mostly by the Democrats (liberals) opposing every attempt to drill for oil in America, while making it impossible to build a gasoline refinery here for more than 30 years while they move us ever closer to socialism (and if you don't know what socialism is, and why it's bad for us, PLEASE look it up). But we'll survive, as we've survived other "rough patches" also caused by the liberals (Democrats). They do this simply to buy votes from those they have convinced to "ignore politics because one person can't affect it anyway" and are thus ignorant of the facts. (The American)

To Put Out a Fire, Douse it With Gasoline!

That's pretty much as logical as what Obama is promoting. He wants to subsidize CONSUMPTION (giving everybody #1,000 to buy gas) while further taxing to reduce PRODUCTION (paying for the $1,000 with an "excess profits tax" on the oil industry). How stupid is THIS? Seems like every word out of this man's mouth displays his ignorance. (The Beacon News)

"Drilling Won't Solve the Fuel Price Problem?"

How stupid is that comment? That's the "liberal line" whenever anybody suggests domestic oil drilling. Then they say we should "open up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve" and put 700 million barrels of oil into the market. Aside from the fact that this isn't going to do much, I'd ask, along with Chuck Norris, "How did we get that 700 million barrels?" We drilled for it, didn't we? So how can anybody with any intelligence at all say we "can't drill our way out of the 'fuel crunch'?"  I really hate it that we have such ignorant people representing us in Congress. Worse, that not enough people realize how ignorant they are to get rid of them. They keep re-electing these bozos to important office while they continue to do things that cost us all a lot of money and freedom. What is WRONG with these people? More importantly, what is wrong with those who continue voting them back into office time after time, even after they've proven their stupidity over and over? (Chuck Norris)

It's RUSH Time!

It's Rush Limbaugh's 20th anniversary in AM radio, after all the "powers that be" (most of whom are now out of radio) said a talk radio show on AM radio when most conservatives were at work was NOT the way to riches. I've gotten some nasty mail in the past when I praised Rush Limbaugh from people who just don't know who their friends are. But I'm gunna do it ennyway. Liberals thought he was finished when he was caught abusing prescription drugs because of the immense pain he was in because of a back problem, but he "weathered" that storm and proved them wrong again. He built the biggest single part of his audience BEFORE Bill Clinton came along, but liberals STILL say he's nothing without a Bill Clinton to criticize. Liberals have proven themselves wrong about him, and other things so often, is has become a "resume enhancer" to be wrong, especially about Rush Limbaugh. It is Rush Limbaugh who is responsible for me doing what I'm doing today--albeit not on his level. It was listening to him and seeing his conservative audience grow that convinced me that those telling the truth had a chance. If I had thought of it, I'd have dedicated my recently published book, "What's WRONG in America" to him, but I forgot. Rush Limbaugh is a "national treasure," for sure. Even if even some of our supposed "conservatives" don't agree. I don't agree with all of his OPINIONS, but I've never caught him in a lie. Long live Rush! Long live AM talk radio! (Ann Coulter)

This is How You Scam the People

Senator Charlie Rangel has the government paying $777 a month to lease a Cadillac so his constituents will think "he's somebody." I guess that's what he thinks  "being somebody" is, driving a Cadillac. Meanwhile, he's "beating the bushes" to build a $30 million dollar monument to . . .himself. Now, if that isn't the heights of conceit, I don't know what is. I might also add that he helped immeasurably to get the lowest rating ever for his Congress. Now THAT'S an accomplishment. They ought to put a statue of a pig in front of "his" edifice, showing everybody what a good provider of "pork" he is. (Common Sense)

The Urge to Vomit

Everything that comes out of Barack Obama's mouth makes me want to vomit. Not because he's half black (why should I have to add that?), but because he's entirely socialist. That means he's in favor of TAKING an ever-increasing part of what I EARN and give it to the "drones of society" who do not, or will not earn for themselves. There's a long list of other politicians who make me want to vomit. Hillary is high on that list, and not because she's a woman (aarrgggh!). Jared Polis in Colorado is on that list. I turn off the sound whenever one of his lying commercials comes on. They're ALL socialist liberals. They ALL get "mad as hell" whenever someone accuses them of being socialists, but all you have to do is examine critically what they propose (or what laws they support if they're "in power" already) to see their socialist tendencies. You Can't Say That, Either!

Government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department, and the National Counter Terrorism Center, for some silly reason, are denying us the right to use such words as “jihad,” “Islamist,” “Islamofascism,” and “caliphate,” among others. Yes, for now they're only denying that right to government employees. But soon they'll mount a campaign to make laws or regulations to stop EVERYBODY from using those words. Why are they doing this? They don't want to "offend" Islamic people. They seem to forget the First Amendment. Frankly, I don't CARE if people of Islamic descent are "offended" by MY use of these words. I will continue to use them until an unconstitutional law is made against it and they put me in jail for it. They also don't like the term, "Muslim community." What stupidity! And these are the people who are running this country? (Front Page Magazine)

Obama "Livid"

He's livid at John McCain for blaming HIM for the high fuel prices. Never mind that he voted against allowing us to drill domestically for oil, a practice that would eventually ELIMINATE our dependence on foreign oil. He and his liberal friends have consistently BLOCKED every move the Republicans have made to solve this problem, while pushing their ineffective "solutions" that have never proven themselves to work--while oil has kept this country going for many years before the liberals cut off our domestic supply. They keep saying "domestic drilling won't help for many years," so why bother? I say, at least, fossil oil has PROVEN itself to work, if we'll let it. Their "solutions" have not. Meanwhile, their blockage has CAUSED extremely high fuel prices, which have caused high transportation costs, which have created the recession that liberals have been predicting. And he's mad about being blamed? He and his liberal (socialist) friends ARE to blame. (CBS News)

No "Political Prisoners" in America

Oh, no? Not maybe by YOUR definition. It's a "hallmark" of the "dictator" that he has the laws written in such a way as to penalize his opponents unduly for opposing him. He did in this case, where an unpopular (with politicians) tax activist who has stopped $25 million in tax increases had the temerity to TELL THE TRUTH about a politician who had smeared dog poop all over his neighbor for objecting to that poop being in his yard without a few "required" words being on the flier he passed out. This politician got a "slap on the wrist" for the "dog poop incident" and it no doubt made his win in the election thinner. But he has the Florida Attorney General file 14 CHARGES against this man, one for every person who got a copy of the flier (which the court threw out) and STILL got him $8,000 in fines and 60 days in jail. They conned him into thinking he could pay a small fine and not even have a conviction on his record, so he pled guilty. He could have gotten 4,000 years in jail! "The speech regulators no longer engage in mere civil harassment: now they apply the handcuffs and iron bars." For my part, anybody who can deprive the government of $25 billion (with a "B") in tax money is a "good guy." And I can readily see why the Attorney General was so willing to put this man in prison for such a miniscule "crime." At least he didn't smear his "victim" with dog poop. The flier he distributed didn't even fit the description contained in the law under which he was railroaded. It contained NO recommendation to vote for ANYBODY. It was simply his "free speech" and what they did to him was patently unconstitutional. If I were in Florida, they could do it to ME for this blog item. What a load! (Paul Jacob/Town Hall)

What Is WRONG With Liberals?

They must be suffering just like we are from high fuel prices and all the things they bring, including higher prices for products that have to be shipped--which is all of them, in one way or another, but they keep on obstructing ANY effort to do what is necessary to be able to stop importing $700 billion dollars' worth of oil a year and start using oil from our own country where nobody (but liberals) hate us. I guess they'd rather see gasoline and other fuel prices go "through the roof" than lose an election. I guess they figure they're good enough at fooling this ignorant public that doesn't pay attention to politics, anyway, even though politics is at the bottom of all their problems. Frankly, if more people would simply "pay more attention" to politics, we'd be able to reverse their effect on us. Rush Limbaugh says "Liberals are funny when they're out of power. But when they're IN power. They're dangerous." He couldn't be more right. Their policies, since they took over Congress (and before) have LED to the current fuel crunch.

And they wonder why some people blame Obama for rising fuel prices, leading to rising prices all over the map, since just about everything must be shipped and shippers have to PAY those higher shipping prices that come from higher fuel prices. Liberals "quiver with anger" when anyone suggests they're responsible for the current crisis, AND the "softening economy (that inevitably follows) but it is unmistakably their policies that caused it. And if Obama is elected it will just make the problem worse. In short, it is liberal (environmental extremist) policies that CAUSED the fuel prices to go up precipitously, which caused shipping costs to rise, which caused prices to rise all over the market That should be simple enough for even people who don't pay attention, and impossible for liberals to argue against. "In the throes of the Great Gasoline Crisis of 2008, many irate citizens are wrongly blaming President Bush and the Republicans for it all, vowing to install veto-proof Democrat majorities in both chambers of congress and a socialist black Muslim (sic) as president come November. My fellow Americans, electing liberal Democrats to deal with the gasoline crisis makes about as much sense as hiring members of the MS-13 gang to manage U.S. border patrol. Or trusting Bill Clinton as your guiding light for marital fidelity and sexual modesty" These people actually think we can't see these things--and for the most part, they're right, as long as most of us "don't pay attention to politics." What The Hell For?

Obama still seems to think it is incumbent upon US to learn to speak Spanish to accommodate our Mexican immigrants who can't be bothered to learn OUR language, legal or ILLegal. I don't think so. If I were to move to, say, France, to LIVE, I would expect to learn French, instead of DEMANDING that the French people accommodate ME and learn my language to make things easy for ME. I'm NOT going to learn ANY foreign language to "cater" to immigrants who can't be bothered to learn MY language, which is the language of the country in which they now reside. Think about it. If we "open that can of worms" AND give in to this, there are NO END to the number of languages we will have to learn to speak to satisfy other immigrants if they don't want to bother to learn OUR language. Who the hell does Obama think he is? By the way; does HE speak Spanish? (Mallard Fillmore)
