No "Political Prisoners" in America

Oh, no? Not maybe by YOUR definition. It's a "hallmark" of the "dictator" that he has the laws written in such a way as to penalize his opponents unduly for opposing him. He did in this case, where an unpopular (with politicians) tax activist who has stopped $25 million in tax increases had the temerity to TELL THE TRUTH about a politician who had smeared dog poop all over his neighbor for objecting to that poop being in his yard without a few "required" words being on the flier he passed out. This politician got a "slap on the wrist" for the "dog poop incident" and it no doubt made his win in the election thinner. But he has the Florida Attorney General file 14 CHARGES against this man, one for every person who got a copy of the flier (which the court threw out) and STILL got him $8,000 in fines and 60 days in jail. They conned him into thinking he could pay a small fine and not even have a conviction on his record, so he pled guilty. He could have gotten 4,000 years in jail! "The speech regulators no longer engage in mere civil harassment: now they apply the handcuffs and iron bars." For my part, anybody who can deprive the government of $25 billion (with a "B") in tax money is a "good guy." And I can readily see why the Attorney General was so willing to put this man in prison for such a miniscule "crime." At least he didn't smear his "victim" with dog poop. The flier he distributed didn't even fit the description contained in the law under which he was railroaded. It contained NO recommendation to vote for ANYBODY. It was simply his "free speech" and what they did to him was patently unconstitutional. If I were in Florida, they could do it to ME for this blog item. What a load! (Paul Jacob/Town Hall)

What Is WRONG With Liberals?

They must be suffering just like we are from high fuel prices and all the things they bring, including higher prices for products that have to be shipped--which is all of them, in one way or another, but they keep on obstructing ANY effort to do what is necessary to be able to stop importing $700 billion dollars' worth of oil a year and start using oil from our own country where nobody (but liberals) hate us. I guess they'd rather see gasoline and other fuel prices go "through the roof" than lose an election. I guess they figure they're good enough at fooling this ignorant public that doesn't pay attention to politics, anyway, even though politics is at the bottom of all their problems. Frankly, if more people would simply "pay more attention" to politics, we'd be able to reverse their effect on us. Rush Limbaugh says "Liberals are funny when they're out of power. But when they're IN power. They're dangerous." He couldn't be more right. Their policies, since they took over Congress (and before) have LED to the current fuel crunch.

And they wonder why some people blame Obama for rising fuel prices, leading to rising prices all over the map, since just about everything must be shipped and shippers have to PAY those higher shipping prices that come from higher fuel prices. Liberals "quiver with anger" when anyone suggests they're responsible for the current crisis, AND the "softening economy (that inevitably follows) but it is unmistakably their policies that caused it. And if Obama is elected it will just make the problem worse. In short, it is liberal (environmental extremist) policies that CAUSED the fuel prices to go up precipitously, which caused shipping costs to rise, which caused prices to rise all over the market That should be simple enough for even people who don't pay attention, and impossible for liberals to argue against. "In the throes of the Great Gasoline Crisis of 2008, many irate citizens are wrongly blaming President Bush and the Republicans for it all, vowing to install veto-proof Democrat majorities in both chambers of congress and a socialist black Muslim (sic) as president come November. My fellow Americans, electing liberal Democrats to deal with the gasoline crisis makes about as much sense as hiring members of the MS-13 gang to manage U.S. border patrol. Or trusting Bill Clinton as your guiding light for marital fidelity and sexual modesty" These people actually think we can't see these things--and for the most part, they're right, as long as most of us "don't pay attention to politics." What The Hell For?

Obama still seems to think it is incumbent upon US to learn to speak Spanish to accommodate our Mexican immigrants who can't be bothered to learn OUR language, legal or ILLegal. I don't think so. If I were to move to, say, France, to LIVE, I would expect to learn French, instead of DEMANDING that the French people accommodate ME and learn my language to make things easy for ME. I'm NOT going to learn ANY foreign language to "cater" to immigrants who can't be bothered to learn MY language, which is the language of the country in which they now reside. Think about it. If we "open that can of worms" AND give in to this, there are NO END to the number of languages we will have to learn to speak to satisfy other immigrants if they don't want to bother to learn OUR language. Who the hell does Obama think he is? By the way; does HE speak Spanish? (Mallard Fillmore)

Business As Usual, Surprise, Surprise!

Voters are very disappointed in Congress, whose "approval rating" has dropped to a paltry 9%. There are many good reasons for this: "Since the Democrats' taking control of Congress, housing starts have stopped and existing sales slumped, the national debt, which only Congress can control, has blossomed, the dollar has declined sharply on international markets, unemployment has risen by close to 50 percent from its previous level, which was in the "statistical grass" and the lowest in recent history and fuel prices have skyrocketed." [Emphasis mine. -RT] Before the Democrats took control in Congress we were doing pretty well. Not the greatest, since the liberals in Congress have consistently obstructed every effort the president made to do away with our dependence on foreign oil, sold grudgingly to us by our enemies. The president's numbers consequently aren't much better. Holding steady at 32%--almost THREE TIMES that of Congress. But nobody's interested in that. Every time Bush's ratings go down by a quarter percent, it's front-page news. But Congressional approval numbers "just aren't news," according to the liberal media. I wonder why . . . Kiplinger even tried to convince us that, while the president's ratings are all-important, Congressional ratings tanking, aren't. (Sun-Sentinel)

What Happened to William Jefferson of New Orleans?

For a while there, I thought something that doesn't often happen would come to pass: a DEMOCRAT in Congress would be indicted, tried, and punished for corruption. It hasn't happened, at least, according to the liberal media. Strange; I haven't heard his name even mentioned recently. Meanwhile, they're off on another witch-hunt, this time in Alaska, where they "bagged" a REPUBLICAN Senator, Tom Stephens. "WASHINGTON - Sen. Ted Stevens, the longest-serving Republican senator and a figure in Alaska politics since before statehood, was indicted Tuesday on seven counts of failing to disclose thousands of dollars in services he received from a company that helped renovate his home." They've been dogging him for years, and they finally "got him." It's "big news.: The biggest. Not like when they found close to $100,000 in cash in Jefferson's refrigerator. The "silence" was "golden." Sure, there was a press blip for a while, but it "petered out" soon, and I haven't heard his name since, except on the Rush Limbaugh show. When he was indicted on 16 corruption charges, he tried to convince the world that the $900,000 was "FBI money," given to him to give to the Nigerian vice-president, which he did not do (for so far undisclosed reasons). As far as I know this case has never been finished, and they didn't identify him as a Democrat.(News Busters)

Gettin' to Be a Habit

I know it has been going on before the Border Control put two of its members in prison for ten years for doing their jobs, but it wasn't then until I noticed the trend today to "criminalize" people who put their lives on the line to enforce our laws and defend us. Col. Jeffery Chessani, who was in charge in the "Haditha affair," was found "not guilty," as were several of his men in a situation where the enemy is KNOWN to "set up" soldiers to "appear" to target civilians and kill them. But the government is not satisfied. They need a "scapegoat" to shut Murtha up, so they have appealed his clearing, forcing him to continue to fight for himself, rather than his country. Elsewhere, they put a good cop in jail for killing a fleeing felon who had a gun in his hand the last time he saw him, as he was fleeing the scene of a crime. I'm beginning to believe that SOMEONE, somewhere, who has a lot of "juice," wants to demoralize people who are "protecting us" so they won't do their jobs to the best of their ability. I'm sure Border Patrol officers are. (Police Defense Organization/Robert Lawlor)
