As Usual, We're At Fault

In Kabul, Afhghanistan, August 22, 2008. American troops and Afghan troops were fired upon from a village. So they went in and "cleaned up" that village. Only problem was, the terrorists who fired upon them had hightailed it out the back, putting unloaded guns into the hands of the people who lived there. What this meant is that some civilians were killed. Personally, I don't, for a minute, believe that 60 CHILDREN were killed. I think that's a product of undercover terrorists who are on this "commission." We've seen way too many instances of Islamic terrorists "setting up" civilians (and children) to be killed by Americans, while they "lit out for the hills" after firing on an American troop. I just don't believe it. This "news item" was very plain that there WERE no "Taliban" among the casualties. Nothing said about other terrorists. Of course there were none of them among the casualties. They were "out of sight" well before the shooting started. What actually happened is that 25 "militants" (translation: terrorists) were killed, along with FIVE (FIVE) civilians. This was certified by NATO. Claims of civilian deaths can mean money for the "survivors," as Karzai's government (and the U. S. military) give "condolence payments" to the relatives. This guy Tawakai Reza. Whose false info created the raid in the first place, seems to be the one who killed the village leader that everybody was gathered to honor. They SAY Tawakai is "being protected by the U. S. military." I don't believe that, either. I think the whole thing was a scheme to strengthen Tawakai's power in this village. (Yahoo News)

Central Planning Never Works

Makes ya wonder, doesn't it? They always claim that the "central planners" are "smarter than the average human." Why then, do their plans always fail? And why do we keep allowing them to try in our behalf? Maybe they ARE "smarter" than we are. Smart enough anyway to con us. Tom Sowell says that if mothers could do complicated surgery in their kitchens, what would we need "medical professionals" for? The same applies to "professional planners." More often than not, their "plans" fail and "amateurs" dp better. So why do we need "professional planners? Except to give them the POWER to plan for us? Frankly, that's what they're after. How about school? "Academic professionals SAY we shouldn't "home school" our children for a variety of reasons, but home schooled children commonly outperform public school children. So for what do we need "academic professionals?" One of the best examples of "professional" failures is communism and socialism, It has become so painfully obvious that "central planning" doesn't work, even communist and socialist governments are altering their systems to allow for more capitalism, while engaging in it themselves in their dealings with other countries after decades of collectivism (the same thing as both). showed it didn't work. But liberals keep promoting collectivism (socialism, communism) for us, and every time a socialist gets elected, he or she pushes "sharing" onto the populace, and that "old saw,"  "central planning." It doesn't work worth a damn, but we keep buying it because they "couch it" in good-sounding terms. But "central planning" is doomed to failure by its very complexity. Individuals, no matter how well educated, are not capable of controlling ALL the variables involved. So they pretend they're "in control" and when one plan fails, they never acknowledge it. They just announce "a new plan." Amateurs do not fail because all they have to control is their own little niche. (Economist Tom Sowell)

Don't Mess With the Sikhs!

A gunman came into a Sikh Society gathering in a park in Sacramento County and shot two people. Whereupon the unarmed (not guns) Sikhs beat the hell out of him and held him for the cops, according to the Sacramento Bee. If there's one thing to be learned from this, it's that the Sikhs are not to be messed with. Yes, they're East Indian, but they have no connection to the Islamic terrorists, even though they DO "look different." Most of them are good people and don't deserve such treatment, although you don't want to make them mad. (Sacramento Bee)
